Fabulous Fish was a Finalist in the 2009 Seafood Awards held in London’s Grosvenor Square! The awards were established in 2005 by Seafish, the UK’s leading authority on seafood, to recognise excellence and promote sustainable practice across the seafood industry. The Seafood awards consistently attract a high calibre of entry and this year’s crop of winners has proved to be no exception.

In the category of Training and Development, Sarah O’Connor, the founder and owner of Fabulous Fish, found herself pitched against the supermarket giant Asda in her category. Sarah was finally piped at the post into second place by Asda; however this incredible achievement underlines Sarah’s commitment to the quality of her products and her passion to bring the best of all thing s seafood to her customers in Chepstow and Monmouth.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Seafish Chairman Charles Howeson said, “This has been the most successful Seafood Awards since their inception in 2005, with over 170 entries in the fourteen award categories – a testament to the innovation and determination to win that exists in this industry.”

Sarah said the she was is delighted with her achievement in the national finals but will be there next time to turn the table on this year’s eventual winner. Sarah went on to say that the support she was has had from her customers has been overwhelming and believes that this reflects her desire to source the highest quality seafood from sustainable sources through her suppliers who understand that her customers want the freshest produce supplied to their doorstep.
